It has been an honor to serve as the Brentsville Representative to the Prince William County School Board.  Since my election in 2007 I have worked hard with my fellow School Board members to ensure that our students are able to reach their full potential.   We have done this during difficult budget times by focusing on what matters.  As a board member I have pushed forward initiatives that focused on overcrowding by  moving up new school construction dates, increased public transparency in our facility planning, focused attention on our core curriculums, and mandated new safety rules for our athletes.  I am most happy to have played a major part in saying goodbye to 56 trailers in the Linton Hall corridor with the opening of three new schools this fall.  I will continue to push for moving up the construction dates of schools in areas with overcrowding.

We have terrific schools but there is still work to do which is why I am seeking a second term.   As a parent with children in our school system I understand the issues facing parents and taxpayers in this economy.   I deeply value a great public education and the important role it plays in providing our children the opportunity to make their academic dreams a reality.

I look forward to continue working with the Bristow, Gainesville and Nokesville communities as we focus on preparing our students for their future; whether that is college, military service or a vocation.

Please support me with your Vote on Tuesday, November 8, 2011.  I pledge to protect our most precious asset – our future, our children – as they shoot for the stars.
